
Bio
Mariah Atwood is a trumpet player from Clinton, Mississippi. She is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in music performance at The University of Southern Mississippi. Atwood currently studies under Dr. T.J. Tesh, and has also studied with Ben Bullock, Kevin Mullen, and Chris Moore. Mariah is currently Co-Principle in the Wind Ensemble and second trumpet in the Symphony Orchestra. Atwood also marched with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 2020 and 2021. She attended National Trumpet Competition in 2019 in the high school solo division as well as the small ensemble division in 2022. She was a four-year member of the Clinton High School wind ensemble being principal in 2018 and 2019, while also marching with the Clinton High School marching band as a three-time Bands of America regional finalist. She has also attended many honor bands throughout her high school career. Atwood is striving to pursue a master’s and doctoral degree in trumpet performance to become a solo and orchestral musician.
